Last week was quite a week. I went to the clinic on Wednesday because I had noticed lots of little blood red dots on my legs and thought I should just get it looked at. Come to find out when they tested my blood, I had no platelets. They've tested me for all the causes they know of but have landed on a diagnosis called ITP which means they're not so sure. I was immediately admitted to the hospital and was given a transfusion. All of this was a little concerning, but the kicker is I'm about two months pregnant! Yes, it is exciting, but also not being sure of how this little guy or girl would fare with the medication I now have to take was the scariest part for me.
I'm now home on bed rest. My platelets had only shown a slight increase when I left the hospital on Saturday but we are all hoping that they continue to increase to a safe level. I go back for a checkup on Thursday. After being on an emotional rollercoaster for the past week, the only reason I now have peace is that I know how big and great our God is. After much prayer and worship I am reasured that God is in control and I know He has plans for me and this baby. I know that both our baby and I will be fine and healthy, but we would still ask for your prayers throughout the pregnancy. We feel the love across the miles and are so appreciative to have you all continuing to share in our lives.
I am praying for you sister!! Your faith is inspiring!
